Our center is located in the middle of the Mediterranean sea on the island of Gozo in the village of Qala (which derives from Arabic and Maltese for a sheltered haven).
Gozo is the second-largest island of the Maltese Archipelago and is an ideal destination for those who treasure a slow, relaxed rhythm of life and cherish the unspoiled countryside and being close to the sea. The beauty of surrounding nature all around creates an ambiance of complete peace.
The island is known and loved for its beautiful green valleys, scenic hills, hidden beaches, and crystal clear blue waters. Made up of 12 villages and a small capital, it is rural, quiet, relaxing, and full of local charm.
Gozo is also rich in historic locations such as the 15th century Cittadella castle and the Ggiantija temples, which along with the other Megalithic Temples of Malta are among the world's oldest free-standing structures. Gozo is also said to have been the home of the mythological Calypso, the nymph from Homer’s Odyssey. The island has some amazing natural features such as the Inland sea and Wied il-Mielah Window.
There are many beaches on the island, great hiking trails, and Gozo is considered one of the top diving destinations in the Mediterranean. Gozo has a deep culture in organic farming bringing an abundance of locally grown fresh vegetables and fruit; making it the perfect location for wellness and healing.
From November to March the island is full of lush green fields, wild flowers and herbs, and crisp air, rains fall with mostly sunny days. The sea stays warms to swim in until around the end of December. April begins the warm climate, with the peak from June to August. The island becomes desert like and the heat will stay until November before the rains begin. These seasonal changes bring great weather to retreats all year round.
How to get there
A 25 minute ferry ride from the north of Malta, Gozo is a tiny Mediterranean paradise. To get here, you need to arrive on the mainland of Malta, and take one of two Ferry options to the island.
We can offer a range of private transport options from the airport to Samudra.

About accommodation
Accommodation
Our accommodation for guests is in traditional Gozitan Farmhouses. The houses and Shala are all located close together in a quiet area at the end of the village, surrounded by nature. The beach is a 15-minute walk as is the village square, where there is a local supermarket, a bakery, restaurants, bars, a pharmacy and an ATM machine. There is a local bus service to Victoria, the capital of Gozo and to the ferry port, with a bus stop close to the Samudra houses. We can also arrange bicycle hire for guests.
Together, the houses have a total of 12 bedrooms - 10 x rooms with double or Queen size beds and 2 x twin bedrooms. One house has 5 bedrooms (4 x double and 1 x twin), one has 3 bedrooms (all double beds), one has 2 bedrooms (1 with a Queen bed and one twin bedroom). There is also a bedroom on the first floor of the Shala with a double bed. All bedrooms are ensuite and have air-conditioning / heating and Wi-fi, and eight of them have balconies or terraces. All of the houses have small swimming pools with sun loungers.
There is also the option to rent a spacious one-bedroom villa with a pool, that is 20 metres from the Shala. This then gives the maximum of 12 bedrooms and 14 beds.
The 5-bedroom house has a professional kitchen and a dining room, that seats up to 14 persons. It also has a living area with seating for 14 persons and a communal second-floor terrace with breathtaking sea views.
We rent out the Farmhouses as the whole house regardless of the number of guests staying and charge by the night per house. The minimum rental is for 4 nights. We provide fresh linen as well as bath and beach towels.
