Escape to a tiny private island sanctuary nestled deep in the heart of Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands. Surrounded by turquoise waters and untouched nature, this secluded tropical paradise is ideal for intimate retreats, surf escapes, surf coaching or wellness experiences.
🌿 Venue Overview
Our eco-conscious island accommodates just 8–10 guests in four hand-built bungalows — offering privacy, comfort, and connection to nature. Each space is crafted with reclaimed driftwood and designed to blend harmoniously with the environment. Upon request we add can extra beds and accommodate up to 12 guests.

Host daily sessions in our stunning open-air yoga shala, built entirely from natural materials and set just steps from the ocean. The peaceful atmosphere is perfect for yoga, meditation, and breathwork.

Bungalow One
Bungalow 1 was the first bungalow built, it has 2 king size beds, and an outdoor shower - you can shower under the stars. As well, there is a great swimming beach right out front of it.
Honeymoon Suite
Bungalow 2 - The Honeymoon suite has 2 king size beds. It is at the end of the trail nestled in the coconut jungle - it is very private. The beach out front is great for midnight swims. We can also turn the interior L sofa into a third large bed, and make the deck the lounge area, if 3 friends want to share the house.
Family Bungalow
Bungalow 3 - Some call it the beachhouse, it has 3 separate rooms with 2 bathrooms and the downstairs 2 private room have king sized beds that can be exchanged to 2 singles, it can sleep 3 - 5 people depending on the needs of the guests .
Bungalow 4
Bungalow 4 is smaller than the others, with a king size bed and a single, it comfortably hosts a couple or small family on the beach. This is the bungalow you want if you're needing internet access when our generator is turned off, between 11pm & 5:30am - it is the closest to the cell tower.

Each bungalow also has fans to help stay cool (we do not use AC) Using local Mentawai builders, under the guidance of John E Ocean, Togat Nusa Retreat maximises it's local surroundings and functions as a partial eco- resort, yet still delivers a very high standard of accommodations and personal space.

How to get there
We recommend that you travel to Padang on Sumatra (port of departure) via Jakarta, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur. You spend one night on arrival and departure in Padang and hop on the Mentawai Fast ferry next day. Boat ride takes 3,5 hour to Tua Pejat harbour and another 30 min to our little island.
