About venue
Fonte De Ferro is an off-grid homestead located in Central Portugal, set within 2.5 acres of natural land. Built from the ground up, Scott & Driss welcome you to join them in this naturally beautiful location, surrounded by wildlife, natural water sources & peace.
Having been on their own transformation journey over the past few years, Scott & Driss are keen to share their exciting new off-grid adventure, in the hope that it will help you to progress on your own personal journey.
Fonte De Ferro is born from a dream to encourage peace, soul searching & reconnection in a natural & sustainable environment. Scott & Driss invite you to enjoy the beautiful sunsets & starry nights where you can marvel at the Milky Way whilst relaxing & reconnecting with the world around you.
Scott & Driss are extremely friendly & approachable, they have worked in the corporate world, owned & operated their own businesses & travelled extensively. There is always a story to be shared!
We aim for every one to enjoy their experience with us & the Fonte De Ferro team have worked hard to provide you with a variety of naturally stunning spaces for your enjoyment. Being off-grid doesn't mean it has to be difficult & basic, so through clever design & eco-sensitive systems you can relax & enjoy many creature comforts you'd find 'at home'.
Our retreats are designed with you in mind; so that you can fully reconnect & benefit from being in nature, along with guidance & teachings from our hand-picked Retreat Leaders.
All of our retreats are intimate & relaxed, with no more than 7 guests at each retreat. This allows us to create a welcoming & safe experience for all guests; whilst allowing you the opportunity to truly hold space & benefit from the retreat's intended outcomes.
We will work with you during your retreat to create a near one-to-one experience which has heart & soul at its core so that you have an individual & enjoyable time with us. We are confident that you'll make some life long friends along the way too during your stay.
We want all of our guests to have a memorable time & we require guests to engage with us prior to arrival on any areas on which you may personally wish to develop.

Fonte De Ferro; translated to Source of Iron is given its name due to the naturally iron rich Roman fountain at the homestead. The Retreat & homestead has been created within 2.5 acres of vibrant natural landscape after it's owners, Scott & Driss decided to escape the 'rat race' & 'City life' & embark on a more meaningful & sustainable way of living. Their premise was to be off-grid, sustainable & to share their lifestyle with others with the hope that it may help others on their own personal journey.
Fonte De Ferro is about harmony, personal well-being & connecting with nature, whilst having fun & a zest for life. This Central Portugal location is surrounded by lush natural waterways & river beaches, history, myth & legend - which simply adds to the magic!

Lisbon/ Lisboa International Airport.
Approx 1hr 20 mins from Fonte De Ferro.
By Car:
Hire Cars are available across Portugal & easily from Lisbon airport. Prices are from €45 per day. We have free on site parking.
By Train:
Direct trains run from Lisbon to our nearest town Abrantes frequently with prices from €12.
Taxi's from Abrantes to our location are approx €20.
By Coach:
Grab a coach from Lisbon to Abrantes & you can be with us in around 2hrs. Prices are from €4.
With a taxi transfer from Abrantes to our location for approx €20.
By Private Transfer:
We can arrange for group/ private transfers depending on requirements. This is particularly useful for Retreat guests & Weddings. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

We supplement our menus with local organic produce as far as possible & use our own produce each & every day. We are able to cater for a variety of dietary preferences & requirements and invite you to let us know about your choices in advance so that we can best serve your needs.
Our Retreats are provided all-inclusive (excluding alcohol) with continental style breakfast, snack lunch & evening meal provided.
Tea, Coffee & Water is included, unlimited during your retreat.
