Perched on a hilltop in the western North Carolina mountains and within an easy drive of Asheville and all its attractions, this lovely home serves as a welcoming “home base” for your retreat, and its grounds offer plenty of room to host all phases of your gathering.

- Your guests and participants can find lodging at Stony Woods in our🌳Treesort🌳(treehouse cabins), making it a perfect place for a destination event! Rent just the Villa or the entire property for your event.
- Our event charge includes the use of our tent, tables, and chairs(with setup and takedown) plus an array of day-of services. We try to include everything that you need so you can arrive, setup, and enjoy your stay.
- The Estate is 40 minutes from the tourist-friendly town of Asheville and less than an hour from the Asheville Regional Airport.
Events at Stony Woods Estate are designed to match your exact vision! It is our mission to offer an unparalleled hospitality experience and to help you create lifelong memories in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
Rental of the Villa for an event includes the use of its outdoor spaces. We also include lodging in the five-bedroom Villa for up to 10 people, event furnishings, and day-of services. (We are there to support you through every step of your day!)
In terms of the other lodging on the property, we have five treehouse cabins that the guests can book separately. We have two 1BR studios that each sleep up to 4 (Maple and Oak), one 2BR that also sleeps 4 (Poplar), and two larger 2BR that sleep up to 6 (The Aerie and Crow's Nest). Typically, when the Villa is booked, we block the treehouses from outside booking to enable our groups to determine where they want each guest to stay. Then we open the cabins for booking.
We love the opportunity to host groups who use the whole property. It sets a totally different tone for the weekend when you have the extra time and space to be together. This is the kind of experience that we specialize in. Let's plan a weekend that includes signature moments that everyone will remember.

Stony Woods Estate is a private mountain retreat located in Marshall, surrounded by scenic mountains. You are approx. 15 minutes to downtown Marshall and 25-30 minutes to Weaverville, Hot Springs, or Mars Hill. You are also approx. 40 minutes from downtown Asheville, 45 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, & less than 1 hour to the Asheville Regional Airport. Home is easily accessed via fully maintained gravel roads, right up to the private parking area. 4-wheel drive is NOT required, and property can be easily accessed by any car or truck.
Extremely convenient to everything in Marshall, Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway; come enjoy the eclectic, artsy town that is the world famous downtown Asheville, venture out into the western North Carolina wilderness, stay in to enjoy this marvelous getaway, hop in the car for a short drive to the Pisgah National Forest, or simply do it all! Whatever you choose, you will relax and unwind in style at this luxurious private retreat! This spectacular retrreat location is located just outside Marshall and is approximately 40+/- minutes driving distance to downtown Asheville.
How to get there
The GPS address for our property is 700 Stony Woods Circle in Marshall. From Asheville you will take I-26 to exit 19A (or exit 19 if you are coming from north of us), follow US 25-70 just over 12 miles to Little Pine Rd (take a left on Little Pine). IGNORE ANY GPS DIRECTIONS THAT SUGGEST YOU TURN ON LOWER PAW PAW ROAD. (This is a windy gravel road. Don't drive it unless you want an adventure. Stay on Little Pine.) You will drive about 7 miles to Upper Paw Paw Rd (take a right). Then we are 2 miles down on the right.
When you arrive, you will go straight up the one-way gravel driveway, past the barn and park/picnic area. The road curves its way to the top of the mountain where the Villa is.

This home features a King bedroom on the main floor, a Queen bedroom on the main floor & two bedrooms on the second floor, each containing two Twin beds that can also be placed together for a couple.
