Eden on the Chocolata is an eco-lodge and tropical retreat centre set in a lush hillside garden just outside San Juan del Sur, with views across the jungle and towards Nacascolo Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
Designed around yoga, wellness, nature and conscious living, Eden offers an intimate setting for hosted retreats as well as groups looking to organise their own retreat or teacher training. At the heart of the property is an open-air ocean-view yoga deck, accommodating up to 16 participants and fully equipped with high-quality yoga mats, bolsters, blocks, straps and speakers. The space is also used for meditation and holistic treatments.
A sacred garden with a bonfire circle provides a dedicated setting for sharing circles, rituals and cacao ceremonies. The large communal rancho overlooks the gardens, ocean and swimming pool and serves as the social heart of Eden. Its upper floor offers hammocks and work areas, as well as a projector and screen that can be used for workshops and movie nights.
Guests can cool off in the outdoor swimming pool, exercise in the outdoor jungle gym, join yoga and wellness activities or explore the nearby beaches and coastline.
Food is an important part of the Eden experience. The kitchen focuses on fresh, healthy and predominantly plant-based cuisine, using locally sourced ingredients as well as some fruits and vegetables grown in Eden's own garden. Breakfast is included with accommodation, while retreat packages can include breakfast, lunch and a three-course dinner.
Eden also runs its own yoga and wellness retreats, including flexible stays and week-long retreat programmes featuring yoga, meditation, breathwork, ice baths, massage, cacao ceremonies, workshops and nature activities.

Eden on the Chocolata is located in Nacascolo, just outside San Juan del Sur on Nicaragua's Pacific coast, in a tropical hillside setting surrounded by gardens and nature with views towards the jungle, Nacascolo Bay and the ocean.
Despite its peaceful countryside setting, Eden is conveniently close to San Juan del Sur. The colourful coastal town, known for its horseshoe-shaped bay, restaurants, cafés and relaxed atmosphere, is approximately a 10-minute drive away.
Two beaches can be reached on foot from the property. Nacascolo Bay is around a 10-minute walk, while the quieter Mexcal Beach is approximately a 20-minute walk. The wider San Juan del Sur area also offers surfing, hiking, horseback riding and easy access to several Pacific beaches.
The location works particularly well for retreats, combining privacy and immersion in nature with convenient access to beaches, activities and the services of San Juan del Sur.
How to get there
The most practical international arrival point in Nicaragua is Augusto C. Sandino International Airport (MGA) in Managua, approximately 130 km by road from Eden. The journey takes around 2–2.5 hours by car. Eden can arrange a private airport taxi.
Shared shuttle services and local buses are also available between Managua and San Juan del Sur. By local bus, guests should travel from Managua to San Juan del Sur and then take a taxi for the final 10-minute journey to Eden.
From San Juan del Sur, Eden is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride. The venue can arrange a taxi for around US$7, and local shuttles also travel along La Chocolata.
Guests arriving by car can drive directly to the property. A 4×4 vehicle is not required, and private secure parking is available free of charge.

Our space
Eden is an Eco-Luxury resort in the middle of a garden overlooking the jungle and ocean. Eden can host a maximum capacity of 16 people. We have 7 bungalows for rent: 6 bungalows for 2p and 1 bungalow for 4p. All bungalows come with a king size bed (or two twin beds), 2 fans, private bathroom, balcony and hammock.
Our ocean view yoga deck is Eden’s pride where most of the magic happens. Our yoga deck can fit 16 persons and comes with all the equipment you need. High quality yoga mats, bolsters, blocks, straps and speakers. This area is also used for healing treatments like massages, reiki and acupuncture.
In our sacred garden we have a bonfire circle, where we hold space for sharing circles, rituals and cacao ceremonies.
Our big rancho is a communal area, which looks out over the ocean, the garden and our refreshing pool area. It is the place where we enjoy our meals and relax. The top floor has multiple hammocks, work spaces and a white screen + beamer which can be used for movie nights or workshops.
Food
A multi course breakfast and 3 course dinner is included in the price. For lunch we serve a different salad every day, which you can book optional. Other healthy snacks like avocado toasts, smoothie bowls and energy balls are available on site. Out of concern for the environment and our health, most of our food is plant-based. Let us surprise you with our creativity in providing a variety of healthy and fulfilling vegetarian meals.
